Twitter: The ‘New Age’ Digital News Source
I have been reading a few recent interesting news articles of how industries and particular companies are using twitter feeds to get their ‘breaking and latest news’.
An interesting case study in the media industry, as an example, is where News Ltd is currently setting up an internal publishing platform where relevant twitter feeds will be stream ‘up to the minute’ news items as journalists draft their stories.
There seems to be a trending theme for the use of twitter for other industry segments including the finance industry where staff at Dow Jones, are using tools such as Tweetdeck to monitor and publish related twitter feeds to keep their stakeholders abreast of up to date information.

With the increased usage of mobile devices nowadays Twitter blends itself beautifully to these devices where with a touch of a button you can get the information you are after.
How Your Business Can Leverage Twitter
Imagine if your customers or shareholders were provided a service where they could get up to the minute company and industry information! Wouldn’t that be a valuable service provided to them?
The modern-age consumer armed with the latest technology devices expects to be able to get the information they want instantly.
For the business out there that is staying relevant and up to date with consumer trends, they will be able to:
a) Service their current customer base more efficiently and
b) Attract new customers through the ‘digital touch points’ they create with social channels like twitter.
